Written by Brenda S. Miles and Susan D. Sweet, Cinderstella: A Tale of Planets Not Princes is a fun and unique twist on a traditional story. Cinderstella has the wicked, demanding step sisters, and there is a ball to get ready for, but Cinderstella isn’t interested in attending the prince’s ball, she has other dreams that don’t involve a prince at all. Cinderstella loves space and stars and spends all her free time studying in hopes to someday be an astronaut. So when her fairy godmother shows up to grant her wish, Cinderstella gets frustrated when the fairy keeps trying to get her ready for the ball. Cinderstella won’t stop until her fairy godmother finally listens to her and grants her real wish. It’s a great story that inspires girls to find and fight for their own dreams. I enjoyed all the playful illustrations by Valeria Docampo. It really added to an already brilliant story. What a fun book for young girls! Dream big girls! You don’t need a prince to be happy!
